Everything is ready for the big party on Sunday. A handful of players try to remain calm in the whirlwind that changed his life as candidates. Ten men check every morning buttons, vests and phrases of gratitude. Ten women try taffeta and silks and practice their walk on the most envied carpet in the world. Some repeat experience and statuettes. All are eager to discover his name in a sealed envelope.
There is a king, a sheriff, a smuggler, two adventurers, a biological father, a coach, even a speech therapist amongst the men. Each of them devoted time and effort to a unique performance. We are proud to have again a Spanish actor in the race. Amongst the women, bleak, disillusioned and energetic mothers, a dancer obsessed, a determined girl and a queen. All proved to have a great deal of talent. Twenty actors and supporting actors share a dream: receiving one of the eighty-three years old Oscar’s.
I published my impressions on three of the selected films. The Kids are All Right, The King’s Speech y Black Swan. Here are my favorites actors and actresses:
Annette Bening in The Kids are All Right
Helena Bonham Carter in The King’s Speech
Colin Firth in The King’s Speech
